Food enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn tricks of the culinary trade from some of the best local and international chefs at the upcoming Appetite Fest at Time Square South Africa in Menlyn Maine. The food and lifestyle festival sees a charismatic cast of culinary artistes venturing to Tshwane on 18 and 19 August 2018.
Amongst them are Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston of MasterChef Australia fame, as well as top local chefs Siba Mtongana, Sarah Graham, Nti, J’ Something, Bertus Basson, Peter Tempelhoff, Chris Papayannes, Eric Bulpitt, Katlego Mlambo and Nathan Jacobs.
According to Brett Hoppé, the General Manager at Time Square, there are several experiential packages that offer fans a rare chance to watch them in action, as well as interact with them.
“We really want to give our local food enthusiasts the ultimate experience, to meet their favourite chefs and see their culinary magic unfold right before their eyes. We have some fantastic local and international chefs onboard for Appetite Fest and we are bowled over by their keenness to take their participation to these levels.”
The most intimate experience is the VIP Suite Package; hosted either by the international or local chefs. The package includes, amongst others, access to a private suite with the chefs, access to reserved seating in all of the food theatres, and best of all, a meet and greet opportunity. Guests receive an Appetite gift pack, including a chef’s jacket and cookbook, as well as food and drinks. Seats are limited to just 23 people to preserve the intimate atmosphere.
Some of the international and local chefs will also be hosting Masterclasses, giving fans an opportunity to meet their favourite chefs and watch them in action in the intimate setting of The Maslow Time Square’s the pool desk or at other niche venues in the Time Square complex, depending on which Masterclass they choose to attend.
