Avon Justine invites women to focus on their breast health during October and join the iThemba Walkathon
Did you know that 1 in 26 South African women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime?
This is a frightening statistic, but there are steps that you can take to lessen your chance of getting breast cancer.
Your lifestyle could lower your risk of getting breast cancer
The good news is that changing your lifestyle and living a healthier life can lower your risk of getting breast cancer.
For example, being overweight, inactive, consuming alcohol, eating a poor diet, smoking as well as exposure to chemicals could increase your risk of getting breast cancer. Women with a family history of breast cancer are also at risk of developing breast cancer.
Making a point of eating healthy and getting regular exercise are easy steps that you can start taking today to minimise your risk of getting this cancer.
Show your support for breast cancer awareness a step at a time
What better way to get exercise and show your support for breast cancer awareness than by taking part in the iThemba Walkathon!
Avon Justine will host the fourteenth annual iThemba Walkathon for breast cancer awareness on 20 October 2019 at Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia.
Participate by pre-registering on ithembawalkathon.co.za, the iThemba Walkathon Facebook Page or participating Sportsman Warehouse stores.
