    Tasting Experiences

    From 10h00 to 16h30, guests can enjoy 30-minute tastings at various vendors, all within easy walking distance. These tastings provide an opportunity to explore diverse flavours and discover new favourites.

    Includes:

    • Spice Route Passport – R315 per person (R320 starting October 1st): Allow approximately 2 hours to savour five artisanal tastings, including 6 Spice Route wines, 6 Jewell’s charcuterie, 4 Cape Brewing Co. (CBC) premium beers, Fynbos & Rose Water Wilderer Gin with Tonic water, and a selection of Beyers chocolates. Guests present their passport at each vendor to be stamped and enjoy their tasting experience.

     

    • Individual Explorer Vouchers – R65 per person (R70 starting October 1st): Curated for tour groups and year-end functions. Perfect for corporate groups with limited time, offering a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic tastings such as wine, beer, spirits, cider, ice-cream, chocolate, charcuterie, vegetarian bites, and more. Guests present their voucher at each vendor to be stamped and enjoy their tasting experience. Explorer Vouchers are also Muslim/Halaal friendly.

    Dining Experiences

    Spice Route Destination features three restaurants, each offering a unique culinary experience:

    1. La Grapperia Pizza & Bistro: Known for its wood-fired, thin-base pizzas, flammkuchen, and platters, La Grapperia also offers Wilderer Gin & Tonic, wine, and beer on-tap. This venue is perfect for summer cocktails at the Beach Club.

    1. Jewells Farm to Table: Jewell’s offers a regularly updated seasonal menu paired

    with a selection of Spice Route wines. Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor seating with stunning views of the Simonsberg and Table Mountains.

    1. Jewells Year End Pop-up: This unique pop-up menu is distinctly different from Jewells’ regular offerings, emphasising an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Served family style, the meal features spit-roasted meat options such as chicken, beef, or lamb, accompanied by a variety of sides and desserts.

    Team Building Activities

    This year, Spice Route Destination has partnered with Adventure Works to offer exciting team-building exercises for their year-end functions.

    Each challenge is designed to unite teams through laughter, creativity, and problem-solving. These activities foster connections with engaging conversation starters and mentally stimulating challenges. Whether seeking a thrilling experience or activities focused on improving communication, building trust, and enhancing teamwork, Spice Route Destination has it covered.

    Minute to Win It:

    The Minute to Win It challenge is a high-impact, energy-filled, competitive team-building experience. This exciting event will challenge teams to strategise and complete each activity in the fastest time. The competition creates an atmosphere of fun, suspense, and excitement!

    • Duration: 2 – 2.5 hours
    • Level of Activity: 6/10

    Participants will be divided into teams to fuel their competitive spirit and engage in a series of enjoyable yet highly effective challenges.

    An Adventure Works team leader will kick off the fun with some icebreakers to set a competitive tone before moving on to more structured Minute to Win It challenges, where teams will earn points and gain additional lives.

    Challenges will be scored, and the winners will be announced in an exhilarating finale, ensuring the good vibes continue back at the office.

    Other activities include:

    Môigoeters: A great option for small groups to enjoy a painting session.

    Spice Blending and Tea Tasting at Brendas: An alcohol-free activity that’s popular, participants can choose from a wide variety of options such as cumin, coriander, paprika, garlic, onion, salts, peppers, and many others. They can experiment with different combinations to create a unique flavour profile they love. This experience is complemented by a tea tasting at Nigiro Tea Café, featuring three pre-selected specialty teas, adding a relaxing and enjoyable element to the activity.
