• “FOR THE LOVE OF CACAO” – the 5 words that describe Cocoafair…

What started out as an idea has grown into a full-out obsession for all things cacao. With a carefully curated yet playful name that can be understood as having a love affair with chocolate, Cocoafair had planned to make chocolate from bean to bar at the foot of Table Mountain. Knowing nothing about the process, they started experimenting and making chocolate in late 2009 and since then, have catapulted into success as being one of the very few bean-to-bar chocolate makers in South Africa.

By using what nature has given us, Cocoafair make their very own chocolate and other cacao products. They buy directly from producers so this not only enables them to ensure that the beans have been organically grown but that the people involved in the cultivation process have not been exploited. At the moment they are buying a special blend of Trinitario beans all that way from Panama.

Cocoafair strives to celebrate cacao by making sure that they look after the environment as well as to harness the principles of social entrepreneurship. They are able to do so by making sure their cacao has been sustainably and organically grown, making sure the people involved in the industry as well as their working team are treated well and are looked after, they build long-lasting and fruitful partnerships with suppliers and lastly, provide great customer service and products. Cocoafair strives to produce products that taste great and that can stand up against any European chocolate brand. Their philosophy and ode to chocolate is to appreciate the true taste of cacao and to leave out any other “funny stuff”, staying true to the flavour of the beans of each specific harvest.

With so many flavors to choose from, Cocoafair, without a doubt has the widest and most unique flavour combinations within the chocolate-making industry. Their inspiration for most of their flavours comes from many different sources, like the challenge of making something different, but one thing that is certain is that this team of chocolate cultivators are not shy when it comes to creativity and producing something that will push the market and its customers into trying something new and unique!

Some of Cocoafairs best selling items are their 100% Dark Chocolate. This is chocolate in its purest form. Our 85% Dark Chocolate. So if you are a lover of dark chocolate, you have to try this!

Another must-try if you are on the sweeter side is their White Chocolate with Lemongrass and Cilantro or White Chocolate with Passionfruit and Black Pepper. Also, a great must-try is their Milk Chocolate with Mint, Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts, Chai, or try our Milk Chocolate with Liquorice root.

Cocoafair doesn’t plan on stopping there, they will be launching an array of new products during the second half of the year. As well as their new website where you will be able to get first access to many of the new products we will be launching. They also hope to expand their export footprint by adding another new market.
