Are you ready to be put to the test? kykNET is already stoking the fires for the next season of the popular Afrikaans cooking show, Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam, and you can now sign up for this exciting journey!
Just like in the first episode of Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam in 2023, this year’s participants must once again impress food experts Bertus Basson and Kobus Botha with their braai skills.
The overarching Kokkedoor table has been set for viewers since 2013. Over the years, the show and others from the same family tree, including Koekedoor, Kokkedoortjie, and Koekedoortjie, have provided flavourful entertainment and inspiration to both young and old alike.
Last year, Karen Els from Malmesbury and Gert Joubert from Jeffreys Bay were crowned as the inaugural winning team of Kokkedoor Vuur & Vlam.
Now, kykNET is once again searching for the perfect team combination of a professional chef and a home cook who are passionate about cooking over the coals.
So what sets these braaiers apart? A home cook doesn’t necessarily have formal chef training or professional experience, but their heart beats warmly for traditional cuisine. They are chosen for their ingenuity as home cooks and their knowledge of traditional dishes.
On the other hand, professionals are selected precisely for their qualifications and/or their experience in a recognised restaurant or professional kitchen.
