Chunky fillet gourmet burgers aren’t your average hamburgers. These are melt-in-your mouth culinary triumphs. Bursting with flavour and easy to make! As you plan your Heritage Day menu, these delicious patties should definitely be the stars of your braai!
Chunky fillet gourmet burgers
Ingredients
- 300g beef fillet
- 2 finely chopped shallots
- 20ml finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
- 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
- 1 lightly beaten egg
- 50g finely chopped sundried tomatoes
- 10ml sunflower oil
- 4 ciabatta rolls
- avocado, to serve
- crispy bacon, to serve
- lots of fresh sprouts, to serve
Instructions
Chop beef fillet into good-sized chunks and place in a bowl. Add finely chopped shallots, finely chopped flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped garlic cloves, lightly beaten egg and finely chopped sundried tomatoes, and season to taste. Mix all the ingredients together and form 4 patties. Place in the fridge for 10 minutes. Lightly fry the patties in sunflower oil and drain on kitchen towel, or cook them on the braai. To assemble, slice open 4 ciabatta rolls and spread some avocado on each half. Top with crispy bacon, a patty and lots of fresh sprouts.
