Clover Exclusive: Creamy cheesy lasagne
Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 750ml Clover Fresh Full Cream Milk
- 300g pre-cooked lasagna sheets
- 300 g Clover matured cheddar cheese
- 300 g mozzarella cheese
- 4 cloves garlic
- 5ml course ground black pepper
- 500g steak mince
- 7ml salt
- 140g tomato paste
- 50ml sugar (pending on how sweet/sour you like it)
- 15ml cake flour/corn flour/self-raising flour
- 2 cloves
- 10g Clover MooiRiver Butter
Instructions
Your prep work would entail: chopping up your onion, chopping up your garlic (finely), mixing your 15ml cake flour into a 30ml water, grating all the cheese greasing your dish and layering the bottom of the dish with lasagne sheets.
Braise onions in 5g of butter till golden and soft. Add all cloves of garlic and the two cloves.
Add in the mince to garlic & onion mix. Cook for 10 mins. Add in salt and pepper, keep mixing in pot
Add in the tomato paste, stir well. Thereafter add in the sugar for taste.
Wipe your oven dish with olive oil or butter. Put down the first layer of lasagne
Start your white sauce by bringing your milk to a gentle boil and removing immediately from the heat and stir in your flour and cream. Add 5g butter, stir fast and continuously to avoid a lumpy sauce. Sauce should be medium consistency.
Layer your dish with lasagne sheets, tomato mince mixture, white sauce and a little cheese. Continue this until the last layer has white sauce and the rest of the cheeses.
Put in your oven on a medium heat for approximately 40 mins.
Check in on your dish after 10 mins, as all ovens are not the same. Some ovens work faster while others are slower. Once lightly golden and the side of the dish bubbles and the lasagna sheets are soft then remove from the oven.
