Another win for South African chefs!
Thinus Van Der Westhuizen – the head chef at 99 Sushi Bar in Abu Dhabi – is the fourth South African chef to be awarded a Michelin Star.

Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen was the second South African chef to receive this prestigious award in 2016, followed by Jean Delport in 2019. Now, Thinus Van Der Westhuizen has joined both renowned chefs in being recognised by this international authority on fine-dining.
99 Sushi Bar received one Michelin Star – an honour for the head chef and the hard work put in by the team to create this exceptional standard of quality.
