Cereal is a quick and convenient breakfast option, but what about the sugar content?
A bowl of cereal here and there may not be an issue in moderation, however daily use could pose an issue if you’re starting your day with a sugar kick.
Fear not, as BusinessTech has investigated the sugar content in some of South Africa’s favourite cereals to help you decide on the best breakfast option to start your day.
The top two cereals to avoid or limit are Coco Pops and Strawberry pops with 33.1 grams of sugar per 100 grams. Instead, Weet-Bix Lite is the better choice with only 1.1 grams of sugar per 100 grams. Take a look at the full list to see where your favourites lie.
We’ve put together a list of homemade breakfast options that offer a healthier alternative to shop-bought cereals.
