• Apple pie doughnuts a la mode

    Dessert has never been easier!

    PREP TIME 10 minutes | COOK TIME 15 minutes | SERVES 4 

     

    INGREDIENTS

    • 6 store-bought cinnamon doughnuts
    • 1 red apple, cored and sliced into rounds
    • 1 green apple, cored and sliced into rounds
    • ½ cup maple flavoured syrup

    To serve

    • 2 cups vanilla ice cream

     

    METHOD

    CUT doughnuts in half horizontally.

    WARM the syrup slightly and brush 1 tablespoon onto the apple slices.

    COOK doughnuts and apple slices in batches on a heated oiled grill plate until doughnuts are lightly browned on both sides and the apple is tender.

    STACK doughnuts and apple slices on serving plates. Top with ice cream and drizzle with remaining syrup.

     

    FOOD TEAM TIP: This dish will be equally delicious with pear. Serve with toasted pecans for an added crunch.
