The Valley Harvest Long Table at Boschendal promises an unforgettable food experience in support of great causes.
A collaboration between Boschendal, Franschhoek Valley Wine Tourism and several leading restaurants in Franschhoek promises a one-of-a-kind dining experience this April.
The Valley Harvest Long Table will be hosted on the picturesque lawns outside Boschendal’s Olive Press, offering guests a magnificent five-course meal prepared by some of Franschhoek’s best chefs.

Theo Cromhout, CEO at Boschendal, says the event promises to be an unforgettable dining experience. “On offer will be a delectable selection of meals showcasing the best sustainably grown, farm-fresh produce from Boschendal and the surrounding valley. In the spirit of celebrating nature’s bountiful harvest, all profits from the event will be donated to three charity organisations that play a critical role in supporting underprivileged communities in the Franschhoek Valley.”
The Valley Harvest Long Table will bring together Franschhoek’s leading chefs, who will each craft a course to showcase and celebrate the bounty of the area.
Guests will enjoy a five-course meal that includes:
- a starter course prepared by Boschendal’s executive chef Eric Bulpitt,
- a fish course prepared by Nanda Cardoso of Deux Lions,
- a vegetable course by Nicolene Barrow of Orangerie at Le Lude Estate,
- a main course, prepared by Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa’s Kyle Norris, and
- a dessert course by Ryan Shell of Oku Asian Eatery and the Yama Sushi Emporium.
Guests will be greeted on arrival with a glass of Boschendal’s award-winning bubbly and a selection of paired wines sourced from some of Boschendal’s top terroirs will accompany the meal.
Ruth McCourt, CEO at Franschhoek Valley Wine Tourism, says: “The Valley Harvest Long Table is an opportunity to share some of the amazing produce, meals, and people that make Franschhoek such a world-famous culinary and tourist destination. And with three amazing charities standing to benefit from the event, guests will also make a welcome contribution to improving the lives of less privileged communities in our beautiful valley.”
All profits from this special culinary event will go toward supporting three charities serving the local community, namely:
- Isabelo, a project that provides local school children with access to nutritional meals and warm winter items to ensure they can concentrate in class without hunger, tiredness and low blood sugar;
- FRANCO, or the Franschhoek Resource and Network Coordinating Organisation, a non-profit that offers financial aid as well as training and development with the aim of equipping young people with skills and the means to secure employment; and
- The Kusasa Project, an initiative that aims to address systemic deficiencies in the areas of literacy, nutrition and sport through an independent primary school serving underprivileged children from local communities.
