Vergelegen Wine Estate in Somerset West is thrilled to announce the launch of its latest dining sensation, Cabernet & Carne. Nestled in a charming, restored cottage, this pop-up restaurant promises to impress during the chilly winter months.
Set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, and bordering an arboretum, Cabernet & Carne offers a meticulously crafted set menu that celebrates the finest seasonal and heritage cuisine. Priced at R495 per person, this experience features traditional South African dishes.
Menu highlights
- Homestyle beginning: Enjoy Ouma’s traditional bean soup with farm bread and Cabernet butter, or opt for the vegetarian bean soup with mignonette sauce.
- Main chapter: Choose from entrecôte steak, baby spatchcock chicken, or aubergine schnitzel, served with unlimited fries and a green salad.
- Delightful end: Indulge in old-fashioned souskluitjies – cinnamon dumplings – topped with crème brûlée custard.
- Lekker last sip: Savour moerkoffie with a splash of condensed milk.
A selection of Vergelegen red and white wines, liqueurs, and beverages are available, though not included in the set menu price.
