Brookdale Estate invites all wine enthusiasts and joining wineries from around the globe to celebrate the annual #DrinkChenin Day, on Saturday 8th of June 2024. Since 2014 #DrinkChenin Day has been an international highlight on the wine calendar, not only as a global event but as an opportunity to showcase South African Chenin Blanc.
The first planted cultivar on the slopes of Du Toitskloof Mountains in 1985 has been under the new ownership of the Rudd family since 2015. The family during their ownership have produced the award-winning 2020 Brooke Estate Old Vine Chenin Blanc. In 2022 the wine took gold in the Trophy Wine Show, placing it at the top of its category to win the Rosa Kruger Trophy Wine for best old wine.
The sixth vintage (2022) of this flagship Old Vine Chenin Blanc has just been released and is now available online, at leading wine merchants, and at the Tasting Room in the Paarl winelands.
On #DrinkChenin Day, a special, limited release bottle of 375ml Brookdale Old Vine Chenin Blanc (2019 vintage) will be on sale in the Tasting Room for R180 per bottle (for sale on 8 June 2024 only and available only while stocks last).
Brookdale winemaker Kiara Scott Farmer also takes pride in producing the popular Mason Road Chenin Blanc as part of the estate’s range of lifestyle wines. On #DrinkChenin Day, the 2023 Mason Road Chenin Blanc will be available for complimentary tasting at Brookdale’s Tasting Room (Open: 11:00 to 17:00 on Saturday 8 June 2024)
