Hilde-Lee highlights the underrated nature of the Afrikaans language and its ability to convey a sense of fun and personal connection. The name Toebroodjie, with its South African flair, certainly sounds more enticing than a plain old “sandwich.” Hilde-Lee firmly believes that Toebroodjie will make a delightful addition to the vibrant culinary scene in Stellenbosch.
To complement the delicious offerings, Toebroodjie will curate a diverse and ever-changing wine list. Focusing on showcasing wines from boutique wineries, the restaurant aims to provide locals with a unique and refreshing selection to enhance their dining experience.
The grand opening of Toebroodjie is set for the 18th of June. Hilde-Lee and her team are eagerly anticipating sharing this exciting new project with the community. Whether you’re a food enthusiast, a wine lover, or simply someone seeking a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience, Toebroodjie promises to be a destination worth exploring.
