• Morii at the Vineyard Hotel invites guests to explore the rich flavours of the Middle East with a new winter tasting menu.

Crafted in celebration of the joys of communal dining and for creating shared moments, the ‘Winter Warmth: A journey through Morii‘ is certain to delight diners seeking authentic Middle Eastern flavours.

Wood-fired manakish served with a selection of dips – green whipped feta, coriander tarator, Kashke bademjan, Lebanese spiced hummus – kicks off the culinary journey, before diners tuck into a first course of smoked carrot and sumac soup with tempura zucchini and burnt goat’s feta, or harissa-spiced cauliflower.

A second course offers roasted chicken with whipped feta, Persian eggplant, zhoug and roasted cauliflower, or try the meat-free option of charred baby gem stuffed with roasted peppers, green olive, grapefruit, caper and pine nut relish. A lemon verbena, cucumber and berbere chilli palate cleanser prepares you for the third course, featuring the moreish flavours of coal-roasted venison or pan-friend line fish, or for vegetarians, a choice of Ottoman-style eggplant with tahini cream or Za’atar-spiced sweet potato and Lebanese chickpea stew.

Dessert is a triple combo of black sesame sponge, choux puff, and apple kulfi cremeux, or the vegan option of dark chocolate and chamomile, orange blossom vegan macaron, and rose vegan panna cotta.

The cost is R450 per person for the full culinary journey or R750 per person with a wine tasting added. Booking is essential.
