Pets can now dine, play, and stay in style at Cape Town’s iconic Pink Lady. The Mount Nelson, a Belmond Hotel, has opened its doors to guests and their furry companions.
Guests can check into one of the Nellie’s pet-friendly rooms, and look forward to personalised welcome cards and treats on arrival.
Pets are welcome in five of the ground floor rooms. Food and water bowls will be provided, as well as cushy velvet pillow beds custom-made by Chommies, a Cape Town based handcrafted premium pet accessory and lifestyle brand.
Pets can also enjoy a dedicated menu at Afternoon Tea.
All hotel outlets, except the Librisa Spa, Chef’s Table, and The Red Room by Chefs Warehouse are open to explore and a pet-friendly concierge will ensure that each visit is a memorable one.

Tiago Sarmento, managing director of Belmond Southern Africa, says the Nellie has always welcomed unique guests within its 125-year history.
‘This year we are excited to delight your canine friends with offerings and amenities that take the notion of being pet-friendly to a new level.’
Thanks to the collaboration between Mount Nelson and Chommies, 10% of proceeds from the Mount Nelson x Chommies collection will go to The Underdog Project, a registered Non-Profit and Public Benefit Organisation working with vulnerable children and dogs in Cape Town.
The Mount Nelson x Chommies collection will be on display in the hotel’s library lift and will also be available for purchase online at chommies.com/collections/mount-nelson.
Note that a maximum of two pets are allowed in each pet-friendly room. All dogs with good etiquette are welcome no matter their size.
Dogs should be accompanied and on a lead at all times, and pets may not be left alone in a room.
