• South Africa is about to welcome a legend in the world of plant-based cuisine. Dr Aris LaTham, the globally celebrated pioneer of gourmet raw food, is making his first visit to the country and bringing his revolutionary “Sunfired” culinary expertise with him. Dubbed the “father of gourmet ethical raw foods cuisine in America”, Dr Aris will be a star attraction at The Good Life Show in Cape Town from 30 May to 1 June at the CTICC and in Johannesburg from 1 to 3 August at the Kyalami ICC.

At 77 Dr Aris is a living testament to the power of fresh, natural foods. His philosophy is simple: “It’s not the food in your life but the life in your food that nourishes.” With a global following of over a million people he has spent decades redefining plant-based cuisine by combining vibrant, nutrient-rich ingredients with bold flavours from around the world.

Visitors can look forward to an inspiring Masterclass where Dr Aris will demonstrate how to create dishes like traditional curry plantain, a lush green life salad with cashew cheese and his signature paradise pies. He will also be collaborating with a leading South African chef for a special live demo. Visitors can sample his famous ‘Fun Burger’ and ‘Pizza Please’, which deliver rich, cultural flavours without the usual processed ingredients.

    A first for South Africa

Excited about his debut in South Africa Dr Aris says: “I already feel a deep connection to South Africa’s wellness scene. I can’t wait to explore the country’s rich soil fresh ingredients and unique spices. More chefs are embracing plant-based cuisine and I hope to inspire them to push boundaries and discover the exciting world of raw foods.”

Meet the man behind the movement

Dr Aris’ passion for raw food is deeply rooted in his Afro-Caribbean heritage.
