• Primedia has announced the highly anticipated return of MasterChef South Africa for its fifth season, premiering on Saturday, July 13, at 19:30 on S3 (formerly SABC 3). This season, the show features 20 passionate home cooks from various backgrounds, each eager to showcase their culinary talents and compete for the prestigious title of MasterChef South Africa. The contestants will aim to impress the judges with their skills, creativity, and ability to deliver dishes that are both visually stunning and delicious.

    The stakes are high as these competitive amateur chefs strive to dodge elimination and secure the coveted MasterChef apron. The winner of this season will take home a grand prize of R1 million, providing a life-changing opportunity to launch their culinary career. The series will also be rebroadcast on Sundays at 18:30 on S3 and Wednesdays at 18:00 on SABC 2, ensuring fans can catch all the culinary action.

    This season’s judges are a distinguished panel of culinary experts. Katlego Mlambo joins the show as a resident judge, transitioning from his previous role as a guest judge. He will be accompanied by food connoisseur Zola Nene and cookbook author and presenter Justine Drake. Mlambo expressed his excitement about the new role, highlighting the emotional journey of forming bonds with the contestants and witnessing their growth throughout the competition.
