Celebrity chef and television presenter Siba Mtongana’s restaurant, Siba The Restaurant, has bagged an international award at the Restaurant and Bar Awards 2023.
This is not the first time that the restaurant has won an award, in 2022 the establishment received recognition at the World Culinary Awards.
The awards were hosted by LUX Life Magazine in the UK, where Siba’s restaurant won the award for the Most Exclusive Fine Dine Dining Restaurant 2023 in Cape Town.

While reflecting on her big win, the celebrity chef said this was their first adventure into hospitality and already they have made a mark locally and internationally, winning a few local awards.
“This restaurant is our first adventure in hospitality and already has already made a mark locally and internationally, winning a few local awards, including getting recognition at the World Culinary Awards last year in addition to this recent international one.”
She also expressed how difficult it is to be in the restaurant business.
“Restaurant business is hard, very hard! But, couldn’t have achieved this without our amazing and talented teams at Front Of House, and the engine, our chefs in the Back of House, support team at The Siba Co Group, our landlords at @tablebayhotelsa and everyone else who believed in this ‘crazy dream’ which I launched right in the peak of covid. Truly appreciate your support, passion and commitment to this vision. Enkosi!.” she wrote on her Instagram timeline.
This geared her many congratulatory messages from her fans and industry friends.
