To cook the oats, combine the oats, water and salt in a saucepan then bring to the boil. Allow to cook for 5 minutes. Turn down the heat and allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring regularly, until the oats are creamy and the water has been absorbed. Take the pot off the heat then add the butter and cinnamon then cover with a lid. Allow to steam for 5 minutes.
