Who knew it was this easy? Homemade peanut butter will take less than 20 minutes and is even more delicious than the store-bought kind. Use daily to spread on toast, add to sauces and marinades. Making your own couldn’t be easier – make it as smooth or as crunchy as you like!
For afternoon tea: Home-made peanut butter is delicious sandwiched between two layers of soft chocolate sponge.
MAKE THIS: Peanut butter chocolate fondants
Homemade peanut butter
Ingredients
- 300g (2 cups) unsalted and roasted peanuts
- 1,25ml (¼ tsp) coarse salt
- 45ml (3 tbsp) honey
- 30ml (2 tbsp) vegetable oil
- 40g (¼ cup) unsalted and roasted peanuts, roughly chopped
Instructions
Place the 300g peanuts in a food processor and blitz for 1 minute. Scrape the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula and process for a further 3 minutes until smooth.
Add the salt and honey, and process until well combined.
Add the oil and process for 30 seconds. For a softer consistency, add another 10ml (2 tsp) oil.
Remove the mixture from the processor and add the 40g chopped peanuts, mix well and place in a sterilised glass jar. Store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
