WHAT? Oven-baked chips with garlic mayonnaise. WHY? This can be whipped up with the minimum of effort for a winter-friendly snack to have with drinks. HOW? Simply place frozen oven-baked chips on a baking tray and cook according to the instructions on the packet. Crush two garlic cloves and add a little salt. Stir it into 250ml good quality mayonnaise (not salad cream), and spoon into a serving bowl. Sprinkle the chips with a little salt and serve hot with the garlic mayonnaise on the side.

Frozen oven-baked chips retain much of the nutrition of fresh potatoes and because they are not deep-fried, they contain less fat.
